Burton Learn to Ride |
Learning to ride needs to be a combination of good equipment and good instruction. With that in mind, Burton Snowboards has started a program called Method Centers at North American mountain resorts. Mountain Creek is a Method Center and offers all the benefits there of.
Method Centers are Burton-supported learning facilities at select resorts that believe learning should be painless and fun. Method Center resorts are selected based on their reputation and willingness to offer a superior learning experience to first-time snowboarders, according to Burton.
Burton teamed with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) and developed specialized Learn-To-Ride (LTR) snowboards that are easier for novices to use. These LTR snowboards have been designed to specifically address the problems that beginner snowboarders have when learning to ride. Through a combination of edge beveling, aggressive sidecut and super soft flex, the LTR board eliminates unwanted edge hook-ups commonly known as slams. Perhaps you've heard your friends talk about "catching an edge." Burton's LTR boards are designed so it's less likely you'll catch the edge of the board on the snow and slam painfully to the surface. The aggressive sidecut and soft flex makes the board easier to turn.
The LTR Method Centers are located at nearly 20 ski and snowboard areas throughou tthe United States and Canada. For specific locations and more information about the program, take a look at the Burton Web site.
