What to Wear

Dressing properly is a major part of having a great time skiing and snowboarding. We recommend that you check the weather forecast before heading to the mountain.

Below is a list of quick tips for dressing properly:
  • Wear only one pair of warm, but not overly thick socks - do not wear multiple pairs of thick socks. This will reduce circulation and actually make your feet colder.
  • Wear socks that at least come up to your shins, so that they will extend to the top or above ski or snowboard boots.
  • Remember that weather conditions often change throughout the day
  • Dress in layers for warmth and adaptability, such as a fleece under a shell jacket
  • Bring gloves or mittens - mittens can be warmer, but offer less dexterity
  • Don't forget eye protection - goggles or sunglasses
  • If you don't choose to wear a helmet, bring a warm hat
  • Wear water proof or water resistant pants
  • Bring extra dry clothes for the ride home
