Mountain Creek resort in Vernon, NJ will host a blood drive on Monday, February 20, 2006. Community Blood Services (CBS) is coordinating the event with Patti O'Brien at Mountain Creek, you can phone her to schedule an appointment at 973-864-8202 (walk-ups are also welcome). The Blood Drive will be held from 12:30pm until 6:00pm in the Mezzanine at Mountain Creek's South Lodge located on Route 94 in Vernon. The first 120 donors will receive a complimentary lift ticket courtesy of Mountain Creek.
Someone needs blood every 2.5 seconds and you can save up to three lives by donating. Registration and the blood donation will take approximately 45 minutes. The CBS-trained technicians will ensure your experience is comfortable and pleasant. Any healthy individual, age 16 through 75, and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Donors should eat a moderate meal before donating and must bring identification showing signature. A complimentary cholesterol test is done for each donor.
CBS provides blood and blood products to over 34 hospitals in the area. Blood centers nationwide are facing critical shortages. "Donating blood is one of the best ways people can help their community. Mountain Creek is honored to again partner with CBS for this great cause. Together we can save lives," said O'Brien.
Community Blood Services is part of America's Blood Centers, a network of non-profit community blood centers that provide nearly half of the nation's blood supply.
