Mountain Creek Ski Racign

Author: Shannon McSweeney

The start of the Ski Racing season is here, and Mountain Creek has a full schedule of racing development and training programs, and competitions for this season.  Race gate training and competition have been relocated to Vernon Peak, and will take place on Zero G, Lower Eagle and Doe Run, with additional skills training across the entire resort.  Awards will be held right in the main Plaza, allowing everyone to celebrate our local athletes successes.

Friday and Saturday, December 28th and 29th will mark the official start to the Mountain Creek race season, with the Alumni Giant Slalom and Slalom, drawing competitors from across New Jersey and New York, as well as Burlington, Vermont and Boston.  Competition will be from 9:30am – 3pm on Zero G.

Mountain Creek’s racing program has already celebrated its first major success of the season.  On Wednesday, December 19th, the Mid Atlantic Regional Nastar Pacesetting Trials were held at Hunter Mountain.  There were 23 teams at this event.  Joe Scarpone, Steve Aspinall and Kevin Sensbach, representing Mountain Creek Racing, placed 2nd only 6/100s of a point behind Hunter Mountain.
