We made it! Mother Nature really hit us hard last week with multiple days in the 70s and some sporadic rain. We’re thrilled we made it through with 20+ trails open today. So, what does this all mean for the rest of the season? There have been a lot of rumors flying around so we wanted to give our loyal customers, passholders, and friends in the community an update:

Snowmaking
A snowmaking update? That’s right! We’re getting the guns going again Thursday night and we plan to make snow on 10+ trails across Vernon. Snowmaking in March is definitely not normal, however we have a lot of season passholders and customers that we truly care about. We look forward to insuring that the season continues as long as possible with pristine conditions.

Terrain
The following is our plan for each of the four peaks:

Vernon: Per our snowmaking update Vernon will continue to stay open with 10+ trails and fresh snow.

South: Today (2/26/17) is the last day that South will be open.  We know it’s a bummer to have the parks shutting down, which is why we’re going to be committing to putting up a new park on Vernon Peak. Once our snowmaking team has time to resurface the trails we will be putting up a variety of rails and boxes. In addition, we will be throwing an end of season rail jam and BBQ. The date is TBD, but we will keep you updated.

Bear: Like South, Bear Peak has been hit hard by the sun and rain. We know a lot of our Season Passholders really love some of the trails on Bear. For that reason, we’ll be opening Bear Peak from 9AM to 3PM exclusively for Season Passholder on Monday (2/27/17) and Tuesday (2/28/17).  After that we will be closing it for the season.

Granite: Granite was closed this past Friday for the 2016/17 season.

At this point in time we’re not committing to a closing date. By focusing our efforts on Vernon Peak we intend to make it as far into March as possible!

Events
Our Annual Pond Skim will take place on Saturday, March 11th. This year the Pond Skim will be hosted by Wacky Jackie, so you can expect it to be even crazier than usual. As mentioned in the terrain update above we will also be announcing an end of season rail jam and BBQ that will feature tons of prizes from all of our resort and retail partners. More exciting events are on the horizon this spring including a Spartan Race, NERDs Concert, and the US Open of Mountain Biking.

Lift Tickets & Passes
Starting tomorrow (2/27/17) we will be dropping prices for our daily lift tickets to our spring pricing:

Full day lift ticket (all ages): $40
Twilight lift ticket (all ages): $30

If you buy online you can still save and grab lift tickets as low as $25 on select dates. If you already pre-purchased lift tickets prior to the price change you can expect a partial refund. Beyond that, we will continue to sell our Springster Pass for $99, which allows you unlimited access for the rest of the season as well as all the season passholder benefits (including the exclusive Bear access this coming week). You can also pick up your season pass for next year

It’s certainly been a challenge this past week to keep our terrain in top-notch condition with the warm weather. We’re thrilled that temps will allow us to fire up the snow guns later this week and resurface our terrain. Thanks again for the continued support, we’re looking forward to finishing the season strong and continuing to provide our friends and passholders with the best experience possible.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions that haven’t been addressed. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you out on the slopes!
