World renown skier Glen Plake will be spending the day here at Mountain Creek! He'll be assisting in Mountain Creek’s snow school, joining us for lunch and taking laps with our high school race team. Most known for his epic mohawk, Plake has been dubbed the pioneer of extreme skiing by ESPN, and continues to inspire generations of skiers to escape to the mountains and enjoy some classic winter recreation.

Plake currently holds the highest level of certification for ski instruction in the United States, and that coupled with his charismatic attitude will be a great addition to Mountain Creek’s snow school for the day. Mountain Creek snow school director, Tim Stone is eager to work alongside Plake. Tim remarked, “It will be incredible to see Glen out on the slopes, getting everyone excited to learn a new sport…that extra motivation goes a long way for someone learning the sport for the first time!”

Starring in famous ski films like “The Blizzard of Aahhhs,” Plake helped to popularize skiing through the 80’s and the 90’s. To this day he remains one of the most recognizable figures in the sport of skiing, with his always electric persona and hairstyle to match.
