Kids Camp

It’s never too early to get into mountain biking. Here at Mountain Creek Bike Park, we nurture the next generation of shredders as young as six years old in our dedicated half day and full day camps. An excellent learning environment for kids while parents are up enjoying the mountain.

Half Day Camp ( Ages 6-8 )

Our half-day mountain bike camp for kids ages 6-8 is a great way to get kids acquainted with the fundamental mountain bike skills that will help give them more confidence and more fun on their bikes. We’ll include the use of games to help the kids learn the skills while having fun. These skills include:

  • Basic Body Position and Balance – How to stand on the bike, how to put your feet on the pedals, how to move on your bike to create a stable, balanced position
  • Braking - How and when to use your brakes 
  • Gears - How to use your gears (cadence, shifting and pedaling technique)
  • Vision - How to ride better by looking ahead
  • Pumping the bike
  • Basic cornering techniques

Dates: August 6, October 15

Ages: 6 - 8

Time: 10am - 1pm

Rate: $69.00 - Half Day

Includes lift access, does not include bike rental. Equipment rental available at Bike Shop with a 20% discount on a first come, first serve basis.

Full Day Camp ( Ages 9-14 )

Our full-day mountain bike camp for kids ages 9-14 helps kids learn the ins and outs of downhill riding.  We start off with the fundamental mountain bike skills in the morning and continue to grow our skills in the afternoon by learning how to get our front and rear wheels off the ground..

Morning:

We will work in the morning to cover fundamental skills. Then after lunch, we’ll get out on the trail ride to practice techniques

Afternoon:

  • Getting the wheels off the ground – Front and Rear Wheel Lifts
  • Roll downs and beginners progression drops
  • Introduction to rolling over table top jumps

Dates: August 6, October 15

Ages: 9 - 14

Time: 10am - 4pm ( 1 hour lunch break form 12:30-1:30. Lunch not included )

Rate: $119.00

Includes lift access, does not include bike rental. Equipment rental available at Bike Shop with a 20% discount on a first come, first serve basis. Full Suspension bike required.

Helpful Information:

Riders should have a basic skill of bike riding. (No training wheels or kick bikes.) Advanced Reservations are Required. Helmets required for all participants. Complimentary protective equipment included with all bike rentals. Full-face helmet and knee & elbow protective equipment recommended. Kid-sized Rental Bikes are available. Reservations are required.

4 Week Progression Camp

Kids Camp

It's summer so you know what that means. The kids are going to be itching to get outside and enjoy their time away from school. Why not get them started with something new?

Our 4 Week Progression Camp is the perfect opportunity to get them started at the bike park to ensure a safe, and fun activity for them to enjoy their whole life!

Dates: Every Tuesday from July 11th - August 1st

Ages: 8-14

Rate: Single Day - $75.00 / 4 Sessions - $275 ( Save $25 when you purchase all 4 at once!)

*Does not include Bike Equipment rental. Kids can bring their own or rent from the Bike Shop. Availability limited.

Lesson Details

Ability levels: Beginner - Expert

Up to 8 Participants

Time: 11:00am - 2:00pm

  • Week 1 – Fundamentals
  • Week 2 – Cornering and Pumping
  • Week 3 – Drops
  • Week 4 – Jumps, Table Tops, and Party!

*Participants must participate in Session 1 or have previously attended a fundamentals session prior to participate in sessions 2-4.
